The Navarre Community Emergency Response Team is dedicated to preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation of disasters, especially hurricanes, in Navarre and the surrounding South Santa Rosa County Area. Our members are all volunteers with differing degrees of experience and training in emergency response, and include retired firefighters and paramedics as well as "desk jockeys", male and female, young and older. We're always looking for more.

What does Navarre CERT do? Members receive CERT training to be prepared to help their families, neighbors and community in case of a disaster. Many members of Navarre CERT volunteer with the team to distribute disaster preparedness information and assist in various ways at community events, such as Navarre FunFest. Many of our members have received training in running a Volunteer Reception Center, which the County may open after a major disaster. We also have team meetings on the 4th Wednesday of the month (January through October), 6:00pm-8:00pm, at the Holley-Navarre Senior Association Center (across the street from the Navarre Library). At these meetings, in addition to team business, refresher or supplemental training is conducted. The public is welcome.

The purpose of this web site is to serve as an information resource center for Team Members. The information may be of use to the general public, and you are invited to explore. Information about the overall CERT program can be found at the US Citizens Corps - CERT website. Information about the CERT program in Santa Rosa County is available at the Santa Rosa County Citizen Corps website. A Teen CERT program is taking place through the Santa Rosa High Schools.
